Some new ideas for either business or financial astrology.

[size=150]There is a difference between Business and Financial astrology. Business astrology is more about analyzing the incorporation chart of a company, assisting someone with their planning for their company, or, with their vocational choices. It supports launching new products - when and when not to do things. Financial astrology is more about the larger economic and index cycle, accompanied by many different cycles theories, like the Kondratieff, the Mars Return, Fibonacci. They are similar but different. It could be very helpful to post short, but pointed comments about YOUR findings regarding recent business or financial astrology cycles. The one for me, and, that I am seeing in a lot of business charts is the upcoming alignment of Jupiter Chiron and then the Jupiter Neptune conjunctions occurring in May, July and December 2009. They do suggest hybrid solutions in various industries, since I think Chiron is very much a Hybrid type indicator. Along with the Jupiter Neptune alignment, this could see an increase in Mergers, since mergers seem to be the name of the game when it comes to industry.
For the more financially inclined attendees, of course, the Saturn Uranus opposition is an ongoing alignment taking us all the way out to mid summer 2010. When Saturn Uranus last conjuncted in 1987, we had an economic downturn and, in fact, in a recent and very old archive article I found from 1935, it stated that each time Saturn and Uranus were involved, we had panics or major downturns. However, if we look at the most recent in 1987, the challenge of that time brought some very unusual and out of the box solutions, one of which, believe it or not, was the beginning of distance learning, online training, and video conferencing. It wasn't even happening before 1987!! Your thoughts? Today is January 2, 2009 and this begins the 365 days of 2009.

Great thoughts, Georgia!

With regard to Chiron & its interactions with Jupiter & Neptune this year-- I think a couple of key Chiron concepts may prove useful.

The first is the notion of Chiron as a doorway or bridge between worlds, specifically one which links the realm of the concrete and structured with the realm of the creatively innovative. The potential here is not just for mergers & hybrids, but also for real paradigm shifts in fundamental notions about the structure and nature of business. With Jupiter and Neptune involved, the likelihood for over-speculation is also quite high.

The second notion that intrigues me is the idea of Chiron as an "inconvenient benefic." This suggests that we could get some very negative news this year on stocks and the economy, but that the "bad news" actually turns out to be good news in the long run.

Tim Bost's post about a speculative bubble regarding Jupiter and Neptune reminded me of the last conjunction. As I recall:

January 9, 1997 Jupiter and Neptune were conjunct at 27 Capricorn. A story that appeared in the paper was pointed out by David Railey, author of "The Soul Purpose." There was a Wells Fargo truck in Miami, Florida early one morning, on or near the day of the conjunction at sunrise, which had an accident and was overturned on a bridge. The result was that the people down below were showered with coins and money which fell from the truck!

The symbolism of the sudden and unexpected appearance of money, which just as quickly disappeared into people's pockets seems to be a good image for this pair. Jupiter is the Santa Claus planet, bestowing unexpected benefits which often coincide with unexpected expenses. Neptune only increases the 'bubble' effect as it can create illusions.

Ray Merriman has pointed to this pair representing our "Hope" in 2009.
