Barack’s Inauguration
HI, I was just taking some time to look at the inauguration chart for Obama. But first a few notes:
According to David Lagrone, president takes power at 12 noon regardless of when they are sworn in, so that seems a more important time then the actual swearing in. Look at the swearing in as the time indicating his ability to fulfill his oath and the 12 noon as the actual time of power change.
At 12 noon each year on Jan 20th the Lagna will be vargottma, which means the same rasi and navamsa. This is a blemish remover to the muhurta chart and overcomes a host of problems that we may see, it creates a strong foundation. Makes you wonder if they did have an astrologer choose that time…
Sun will always be in the 10th Bhava and past Sankranti, which is from 00-16 minutes of Aquarius.
On about 1/3 of presidential elections, Venus the Lagna lord will also be exalted in the 11th, so quite nice. The lagna lord in the 11th or an angle helps to overcome problems in the chart as well.
Getting to the details of Obamas inauguration…
Mars is exalted in 9th as lord of 7th, yeah, noble foreign relations, BUT, in Navamsa Mars is in Gemini the 6th from Mars’s Rasi position in Capricorn and that will reduce the results that Mars will be able to actually produce.
Event took place within a week of eclipse, which indicates a term of some unexpected, not too bad as the eclipse is not to close, but close enough to have some effect and this will make some things happen that he did not plan or mention during the elections.
The VTN Yoga is a Yoga that dispels difficulties, GOOD, US needs that last I heard…
The Yoga is Vriddhi, which means to increase, and lord of Yoga is Mars who is exalted, GOOD, US needs that too last time I heard the news…But Mars, though exalted
Nadika is Hasta, which gives the effects of “Severing ties” so it will be interesting to see just what ties are severed for the US.
Overall there is a quite good foundation, besides the eclipse of course. Getting to specifics:
Venus is very nicely placed in 11th in a powerful Yuva/Adult state and exalted, so Venus can produce, though Saturn will create a lot of stress for him since it is forming an unfriendly tajika aspect to Venus. So watch this guy age…
Moon, is, unfortunately, at the end of a sign and has the highest degrees. This is not desirable as any Tajika Yoga to give GREAT effects needs an applying Moon to aspect one of the planets. Without that there can only be mediocrity – well that is better than what we are used to at least…
Moon is, however, within 1 degree of the end of the Rasi which means his aspect can be carried into the other signs and considered to apply to planets in the beginning of other signs, this means Mercury, Sun and Jupiter in that order, but not quickly, only after delay, so it will take time before there is any chance he can do anything wonderful.
To do anything wonderful, the Lagna lord needs to be in apply aspect with a planet and the Moon involved as well. Venus is not in Tajika aspect with Sun, Mercury or Jupiter. The need and desire will be there (Moon) to do something wonderful, but it is not tightly tied together. Since Moon and Venus are within range of their combined orbs of influence, Moon will eeeeventually empower the chart, so expect the better things to happen towards the end of his term.
Since Moon is not applying towards any planets, we need to look at what planets Moon is separating from – any strong seperations will indicate themes from the past administration that he will have to deal with – expect to see lots of these! Moon is separating, or Ishrapha Yoga, from Saturn, Mars and Venus. Good, so Moon is separating from the Lagna lord, which means that some past things have put the country in position to move forward – this is the widest aspect and so the most distant past, but at least there is something good there, since Venus is the 1st lord part of that good will the innate virility of the US, the foundation of the US which laid well in the past (like I said, MOST distance) can help. Then as Venus is 6th lord, Venus can benefit from past diplomatic (venus) relationships with its enemies, which means, some countries/agencies owe the US favors and some of those will be cashed in.
If we look at the dwadashavargiya bala of the planets, none are great, most are very neutral, none are great, and the Sun is actually bad since it has NO friends, which means it cannot pick up points on account of its dignities in the vargas and since it has 3 enemies, it picks up more bad points.
The panchavargiya bala of the two money planets, Jupiter and the 2nd lord mercury are less than 10, ouch! No power there so save your money, though us astrologers tend to do good during trying times of others, so practice your financial astrology for your clients cause they will be calling you.
Good news is that foreign relations will improve on account of exalted Venus and exalted 7th lord, not to mention the obvious fact that they could not get any worse unless the US decided to start WWIII. Mars is in its own trirasi and own drikkana, good, more help for foreign relations, which is critical in today’s global age. Navamsa is mediocre, not bad, not great. Planets in strong dignity are what a president is remembered for, Both Bushes Mars – (Lets go kill arabs…), Clinton Mercury – a great manager, Reagan Moon (time of great American social image that causes even India to watch baywatch and WWF), Obama – strongest in navamsa is mercury, so good management, but not as capable as Clinton – think of all the friends Clinton had to make his job easier, obama has some, but not as many.
So while Obama has a load upon him, I do not think he will be able to make all the differences that he or the public hopes him to, not to any fault of his own, but because the opportunities (that Moon) will just not be available to him, so expect only an average presidency. However, with Venus in 11th there is a very good chance that he will get elected again in 2013 and that is the president that we will remember with Mars, Venus and Saturn all in excellent dignity in the navamsa.
