Progressed Opposition of the Sun and Rx Superior Planets

To understand the Synodic Cycle of the Sun and the Superior Planets, an orbital diagram is helpful:

With direct and retrograde stations of Saturn, the distance between the Sun and stationary Saturn is rather consistent, between 108˚ to 109˚. Thus, a tridecile, or sesquiquintile aspect, forms with the Sun at the stations of Saturn. The relevance of the 10th harmonic aspect family (decile and tridecile) to the Saturn synodic cycle cannot be overstated.

Saturn is retrograde when sesquiquintile, trine, trioctile, biquintile, inconjunct, triseptile or opposite the Sun. These are all highly karmic natal phase angles. It has been my experience that a retrograde Saturn is much more powerful when also in close aspect to the Sun.

When the secondary progressed Sun and secondary progressed Saturn form subsequent aspects, if in close natal aspect, these periods mark the most karmic phases of an individual's life.

Here is an example of this phenomenon in the life of Dennis Wilson, the drummer for the Beach Boys:

Because the retrograde opposition of a superior planet to the Sun occurs when that planet is nearest to Earth (see point #6 in the above orbital diagram), its effect is most profound and can result in a karmic climax in the life of any individual.

In the life of Dennis Wilson, he was born with a highly karmic waxing triseptile of the Sun and retrograde Saturn, applying by only 28' of arc (Sun-Saturn arc is 153˚ 48' 50'').

I wrote in Volume V (http://www.earthwalkastrology.com/volVtoc.htm):

"A profound karmic experience that Wilson had in October 1968 at his progressed Sun-Saturn opposition was of a highly fated nature. Driving on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, he picked up two hitchhikers. Later that day, he picked up the same two girls a second time, and wound up taking them to his home. He left them there while he was at a recording session and when he came home in the middle of the night, he was met by a male stranger and a dozen others. It was Charles Manson.

It was reported that over the next year, until the abominable 1969 Tate/LaBianca murders, Wilson became friends with Manson, living in the same home. The horrid crime haunted him for the rest of his life, and was a contributing factor in a downward spiral of alcohol and cocaine addiction. He died in 1983 from an accidental drowning while drunk (with progressed Sun in 22˚ Capricorn 46' conjunct natal Venus, exact to 06')."

I did a little "experiment" where I pulled up ADB records with the same Asc/Sun/Saturn signs as Dennis Wilson

Out of 10,571 AA rated birth times -only 7 (or about 1:1500) show the above combination of Leo Asc, Sag Sun, Cancer Saturn

I would never in a million years have guessed what other name popped up amongst those 7

none other than Charles "Tex" Watson -the very man convicted of stabbing to death the pregnant Sharon Tate!

and it gets weirder, according to Watson's autobiography -Wilson is the very person responsible for introducing him to Manson!!

One night, he picked up Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys, who was hitch-hiking. Wilson invited him back to his home, where Watson met Charles Manson.[1] ^ Watson, Charles as told to Ray Hoekstra. Will You Die for Me? Cross Roads Publications, 1978. Chapter 6. Retrieved 1 December 2007.

I am no mathematician, but it seems the odds of two men whose first names start with adjacent letters of the alphabet, last names begin in "W" and end in "son," both having the same asc/sun/cancer signs and both being involved with the same notorious crime figure, whose first name is also Charles and thus begins with one of those two same letters and last name ends in "son" - all 3 men connected by 1 degree of separation due to synchronistic hitch-hiking experiences.....

well, it boggles the mind!!! (in an extremely creepy sort of way)

While I am at it, below is Manson's chart with Watson's on the outside. 3 main things I notice:

Manson's evening star Saturn tightly square Sun (thus all 3 men share tight Sun-Saturn aspects)
this theme can be seen in the childhood lives of the 3 men as both highly diffuse/neglectful (manson) and highly enmeshed/authoritarian parental figures (watson & wilson)

Manson's Sun makes invisible both Benefics -they are trapped in the Underworld visually
Manson lured many women (Venus) into the grandeur (Jupiter) of his delusive personal Underworld with LSD -a mind expanding (Jupiter) drug which some say creates a facsimile experience of death (Scorpio) -and then lured men into this Underworld via offering sex (Scorpio) with the women.

Manson's Sun makes the two most powerful synastry aspects possible (imo)to Watson -conjunct Moon and Venus
thus Watson made the perfect puppet for Manson -with Wilson playing the cash/drugs laden intermediary (reflecting the incident where Manson's mother once sold him for a pitcher of beer -with Manson this time as the perpetrator of the abuse -rather than victim)

In fact, it seems the invisible Jupiter's close square to the Moon represents Manson's infantile urge for revenge upon his mother. Having passed the conjunction with the Sun (conception) -Jupiter is moving toward birthing into visibility in the eastern sky. Thus Jupiter represents Manson's pregnant possibilities as a highly intelligent and charismatic person who would inevitably make a dramatic appearance into public visibility. Unfortunately these were warped by the abuse into his delusions of grandeur and the subsequent manipulating of Watson to kill the pregnant Tate.
