Brightest High-energy Light Source Ever Recorded

Since there seems to be very little activity and people write for more information, I will try to present a simple blog of the current astrological weather.

Brightest High-energy Light Source Ever Recorded

A number of you wrote of your interest in this brilliant object that appeared in the sky around June 21st of 2010, after its light traveled halfway across the known universe, a five billion year journey. I will try to put this is perspective and as I am starting to get old (tomorrow I will be 69 years of age) I get to tell you a story or two of my own experience in this type of astrology.

In 1976 I published the book “Astrophysical Directions,” the result of many years work on my part on the astrology of deep space and all of the objects in it like quasars, pulsars, black holes, and what-not. At the time I was an unknown astrologer, and that book was created using my IBM Selectric typewriter, a programmable calculator, and pen and ink. There I was in my tiny office, with hardly a penny to my name, yet fascinated by what deep space was all about. This was before home computers and for every one of those thousands of space objects I had to do the trig on them individually, in order to plot them into astrologer’s zodiac coordinates.

The only astrologers at that point who know anything about deep space were my closest astrological friend the great astrologer Charles A. Jayne, whom I miss to this very day. In fact, when Charles passed on he was getting ready to fly out to Michigan to be with us and celebrate his birthday. The other astrologer with interest in all of this was the great visionary Theodore Landscheidt, a supreme court justice in Germany, who first presented the concept of cosmic resonance in his seminal book “Cosmic Cybernetics. I was able to send him his first personal computer when they came out in 1977. As far as I know, I am the astrologer who first made some sense out of the astrology of space.

In my book I carefully laid out in tables and on star maps (which I became pretty good at drawing out) all of the deep space objects, along with great equators of the galaxy and the supergalaxy. In this process I first explained how we might interpret these non-visual stellar points, those we cannot see with the naked eye, so I will summarize this here for you.

I have included a diagram from that original book that may make it clearer. The visible spectrum that we see every day is only one part of the electromagnetic spectrum. On one side of the visible spectrum are the lower-frequency radio waves and infrared radiation. Infrared is like the red-hot heat coming from a hot stove, or a dying star that is cooling off. They radiate like a stove.

On the other side of the visible spectrum is the ultraviolet radiation, radiating at frequencies higher than the visible, and beyond that is the even higher x-ray radiation, and even higher than that is the gamma-ray radiation. It is the gamma ray radiation that we are speaking of here when we talk about this new brilliant point of light that has appeared at 2-degrees Aquarius/Leo.

If we want to interpret these radiations astrologically, then our visible spectrum becomes the conscious mind, our visible intellect, the radio/infrared spectrum becomes the world of psychic phenomena, where we can “feel the heat,” so to speak, and the x-ray/gamma ray spectrum becomes the super-conscious areas of our mind where we literally can see through matter, able to analyze it all in a laser-like manner.

My point here is that we should not look for the effect or result of this new gamma-ray source in our psychic realms (what we feel), nor in our conscious mind (what we think), but somewhere deeper within us, something penetrating right through us at the highest frequencies that we can imagine – passing right through with matter as no obstacle.

So we may speak of some kind of inner resonance or stimulus, more like a seed stirring inside us, triggering a tone or vibration that will in time reveal its meaning. All cosmic radiation carries information, and this particular information is very, very, very old or deep coming from almost the beginning of time and the universeas we know it.

So what we know is that light traveling some 5 billion years reached us and appeared June 21, 2010 and it was so strong that it overcame our instrument’s ability to even record it. And this was a very, very, very high-frequency resonance, one that we cannot feel with our psychic ability, cannot see or grasp with our conscious mind, but only can receive and absorb at our highest levels… the most extreme reach of our spiritual frequencies – beyond thought. Think about that.

Yet we can be sure that it is now within our experience and whatever is its message will gradually emerge and rise into our consciousness just like Atlantis rising from the depths. What it will ‘mean’ or point to, who knows? Still, it is fascinating to imagine. I hope this helps understand how an astrologer might approach this. I will try to post something on where you care read more next.

For those who want to read more about deep-space astrology, I am afraid that my original book “Astrophysical Directions” is long out of print. However, I have republished it under another title and you can get a free copy in ebook format here:

Hard printed copies are on Amazon.com under my name “Michael Erlewine,” but they will cost money. If this interests you, then the book should be fun to wander around in.

I'm willing to give you that one. Astrophysical Directions was a major influence on me and on the kind of astrology I've been interested in since.
