Vahara Mihira Chair in Jyotisa @ U Chi Div School

That's what's on my drawing board. I'm working on my master's in the U Chicago evening adult program ... my thesis proposal all but accepted -- on tecumseh's curse -- eg the ju/sa cycle and the mayan katun cycle. I hope to use it as a text for an online history course. I have a long long long history with the U of Chicago -- the eternal sophomore may be graduated in 2010 for the ju/sa opposition.

Anyhow, I took the controversial Wendy Doniger's class in The Hindu: An Alternative Reading -- she is a great teacher and I say proudly I told Wendy Doniger what her lunar nakshatra is -- Pushya -- great teacher. (Actually I was rather shocked that Professor Doniger -- and I surmise the sublime Mircea Eliade -- being key world class Indiologists -- were innocent of Vedic astrology)

Professor Doniger is the gatekeeper to a Divinity School Vahara Mihira Chair in Jyotisa.

The Uof Chicago runs on money -- I asked some questions of the philanthropy people and got a brochure with numbers on it ... $3.5 million to establish a chair. Professor Doniger is receptive, a fancy party in P-Town where she summers -- inviting the creme of the American Hindu and the Vedic/Astro communities would, hypothetically, do it.

Please let me know if you are interested in helping to organize this effort.
